This old square (Imam Hossein Square) in the center of Tehran, has been redesigned three times so far. However, none was successful in bringing back people to the square. The objective was to find a solution for revitalizing the square and preserve the identity of the square and neighborhood. I began with a careful study of the historical changes, previous projects and the reasons for their failure. Then I studied the patterns of pedestrian movements and also conducted interviews with users.
